Computer Based Subject Evaluation System
Introduction
Nowadays, technologies became wider and more advanced in terms of the continuous development and upgrades in gadgets, computers, etc… People dealt with these technologies to make their work faster and easier. Most of the companies, malls, banks, schools and other establishments are already computerized in making their transactions or any works. As the years past, almost 100% of manual paper works turns into computerized one. Different programs or systems are developed according to the needs of a certain establishments that will greatly help their clients and for them as well.
The Subject Evaluation System has a specific purpose and function why the researchers are going to develop this system. It will help the user to spend less time in locating the grades of a certain student and write it in his/her hard copy prospectus and evaluate what subjects he/she can enroll. The users will not anymore scan the hard copy grades one by one and evaluate manually the prospectus of a certain student. This means that the user work will become easier and faster than before. The development and implementation of this system will benefits the Department Secretary, working students and students for faster transactions.
Scope and Limitation
The project entitled Computer Based Subject Evaluation System focuses on the development of the system that will be used in evaluating, printing, displaying and retrieving grades of the students. This system is applicable to all college level institution.
The proposed system will be specifically developed for laptops or computer, preferably having a 4GB RAM memory or higher. The researchers will use programming languages like PHP, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript for the development and implementation of the system.
The Admin can change the password for the security of the data stored in the database of the system. The system also provide guide on how to access the system for the user and the profile of the developers.
Development Tools
The researchers listed the different software used in the system development.
PHP (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor) – is a server-side scripting language designed for web development but also used as a general-purpose programming language. PHP code can be simply mixed with HTML code, or it can be used in combination with various template engines and web frameworks.
HTML- is a markup language for describing web documents (web pages). HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. A markup language is a set of markup tags. HTML documents are described by HTML tags. Each HTML tag describes different document content.
CSS- CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets. It describes how HTML elements are to be displayed on screen, paper, or in other media. CSS saves a lot of work. It can control the layout of multiple Web pages all at once. External Style Sheets are stored in CSS files.
