Abstract of Poverty and Malnutrition Information Management System
The capstone project entitled “Poverty and Malnutrition Information Management System” is a city wide online platform managed by the city health office. PHP, MySQL and Bootstrap were the primary development tools of the said project. The main objective of this study is to record and profile the malnourished children and poor residents based on the guidelines provided by the city health office and department of social welfare and development. The records are in electronic format which is secure, faster and easier to manage. The system could easily provide necessary reports needed and statistics that could help the concerned management in decision making. Interview and observation on the current process was used as the data gathering procedure. The system was evaluated by the IT experts and provides additional inputs for the system to become more effective and efficient. Changes were made based on those recommendations and it was presented to the end-user for user acceptance and demonstration purposes. Results showed that the Poverty and Malnutrition Information Management System is very capable to replace the manual method of data recording and profiling. The city and barangay should consider the implementation of the said project for it will benefit their respective office in the long run.
