The pharmacy’s staff also will face difficulties in managing the whole operation of the store just by hand. They manually record stocks of medicines, sales, and other essential information about the pharmacy’s operation. This study will fill in the gap seen by the researchers in the current operation of pharmacies this is through developing an e-commerce platform specifically designed for pharmacies and drug stores. The project entitled Medicine Delivery Web App is an online platform that allows customers to order medicine online. This is somewhat a version of an e-commerce project that focuses on medicine ordering and delivery services. The said project was based on PHP and Bootstrap. The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method will be used to develop the system. To test and check the system, the researchers will gather a sample size of drugstore owners, employees, and clients. Changes will be made when IT specialists analyze the system. Based on the advice of experts, the researchers will improve the system.

Introduction of the Study

Technology objectively serves a role in a wide range of human activities. The potential of technological products and systemized functions transformed the problems that develop in a human setting into a solution that was more precise and logistic. It ended up and addresses some of the issues in offering cost-effective, effective systems and high-quality services in the healthcare industry. The capstone project, entitled “Medicine Delivery Web Application” is designed to systematically transform the marketing operation of pharmacies. The said project will streamline the transaction between the pharmacy’s staff and the clients. The platform will serve as an innovative system to automate medicine orders and deliveries by clients and pharmacies, respectively.

Pharmacy is where patients buy drugs or medicines for medication. Outpatients used to go to pharmacies on their own to look for and acquire the medications they needed. Due to physical limitations and temporal limits that clients may face, this method is inconvenient. The pharmacy’s workers will also have difficulty managing the store’s whole operation by hand. They keep track of pharmaceutical inventories, sales, and other vital information regarding the pharmacy’s operations by hand. Pharmacies and their clients need an effective platform that will transcend beyond physicality.

Proposed Solution

To address the aforementioned concerns, the researchers proposed the development of the Medicine Delivery Web Application. It is a web application that electronically sells authentic medicines for patients who are restricted and incapable of visiting pharmacies abruptly. The said initiative will allow pharmacies to market and sell medicine on an online platform which is more effective in gaining a lot of customers. As for the customers, they can easily and conveniently search for and buy medicine by using the platform. They can place an order of the medicine needed and then the drugstore will manage the medicine’s delivery as well as the payment. The proposed system will make medicine order and delivery easy, fast, convenient, accurate, reliable, and efficient.

Objectives of the Study

General Objective – The general goal of the researchers is to design, develop and implement an e-commerce platform that focuses on selling and delivering medicine orders to consumers.

Specifically, the researchers aim to achieve the following objectives:

  1. To promote an innovative platform to order medicine virtually.
  2. To allow outpatients to order medicines conveniently without visiting pharmacies.
  3. To extend the marketing strategies of different drug stores online.
  4. To digitally transform orders and delivery records management of pharmacies.
  5. To evaluate the system in terms of user acceptability, functionality, productivity, portability, timeliness, and reliability.

Scope of the Study

The main focus of the study is the development process of the Medicine Delivery Web Application. The researchers will focus on developing a platform that will market medicine as well as provide delivery service to the consumers. Login – the system can be accessed by the customer, cashier, driver and administrator. Administrator has a full control and can access every feature of the system, the customer can only request of a medicine, and the driver can only view the delivery details.
