Online Business Permit Application System Conceptual Framework

Online Business Permit Application System Conceptual Framework

This post will demonstrate how to develop a conceptual framework for a capstone project titled Online Business Permit Application System. The input, process, output (IPO) model was used to develop the conceptual framework for the investigation.

About the Project

The capstone project entitled “Online Business Permit Application System,” aims to automate the business permit application process. The system would allow transactions for the application of new business permits as well as the renewal of existing ones.

A business permit acts as a proof that a business follows certain laws and ordinances. The manual method of securing a business permit remains difficult and time consuming. Processing business permits has too many requirements and the processing period, which may take a month or more, is a barrier that has triggered an increase in the number of business permit registrants. What the LGU needed is a faster way to transact and complete the process of securing a business permit.

In order to process business permit applications more quickly and effectively, the Online Business Permit Application System (OBPAS) was created and put into place. The system was created to simplify the application process and give applicants a quicker and more practical manner to submit an application for a business permit. The system was made to inform applicants about the prerequisites for applying for a business permit as well as the steps involved in the application process.

Objectives of the Study

  1. Design a cloud-based business permit processing method.
  2. To develop a system that will automate the processing of business permit.
  3. The system will serve as a repository of documents required for processing business permit.
  4. The system will enable the documents to be access by different government agencies who are involved in the completion of the business permit.
  5. Evaluate the performance of the system using the ISO 25010 criteria for quality software.

What is a Conceptual Framework?

A conceptual framework is a theoretical model that is used to guide research. It is based on a set of concepts and assumptions that provide a framework for understanding the phenomena under investigation. The conceptual framework is used to help the researcher to develop research questions, to choose appropriate research methods, and to analyze and interpret the data.

An example of a conceptual framework that is used in information technology research is the information system lifecycle model. This model was developed to help researchers understand the different phases of an information system’s life cycle: development, deployment, operation, and disposal. The model provides a conceptual framework for understanding the different aspects of an information system, including its goals and objectives, its users and their needs, and the technologies that are used to achieve those goals.

The image above depicts the project’s conceptual framework, entitled Online Business Permit Application System. It is based on the input, process, and output (IPO) model.

Input

User Requirement –This is the area where the researchers obtained information about the system’s unique properties. It is vital to consider their suggestions because they will be the ones using the Online Business Permit Application System.

Review of Related Literature – The researchers have conducted investigations and studies in the proposed system’s region. This procedure will be useful to the researchers as they develop the project or system.

This is where the researchers can now use their knowledge in programming to design and develop the system.

Process

This is the part where the researchers will select and choose the best software development life cycle model for the project.

Data gathering

During this stage, the researcher for the study gathered all potential system development demands, including those obtained from the system’s beneficiaries, the end users. The researcher created the survey questionnaire, which was then validated by professionals. The surveys were created to collect information in order to improve the performance of the proposed system for future community use.

Data analysis

Consultation is used to obtain end-user requirements and generate ideas. We also distributed a survey questionnaire, which was approved by all three experts (IT Expert, English Grammarian, and Researcher). These questionnaires also provided as a data collection tool for assessing the performance of the manual system, which served as the foundation for developing our proposed system.

System Design

The prototype and planned system features are developed at this phase. A concrete understanding of how the system will function is also created. In this section, we determine all of the relevant system inputs and outputs, as well as the data, process, and interface designs.

Programming

In this stage, we materialized the whole idea of the software to be designed. We created the program for the proposed system. The actual coding of the software is based on the system design and the requirements needs to be met. This is where the proper execution of the previous stages ensures a smooth implementation.

Program testing

In this phase, the researcher performed series of testing to check for any possible problems may arise during implementation and operation of the software and if the specification has been met.

System acceptance

This is the final stage, where the system is being installed and to be maintained after actual implementation. One must take into consideration are the hardware and the software requirements for the proper installation of the system. As part of the acceptance of this phase, the client is required to have a user training to enable them to familiarize fully the whole system.

Output

Once all of the relevant procedures have been completed, the project comes to life and is carried out in the actual world. A new project is born, and it will be maintained for the long-term existence of the project. The Online Business Permit Application System will be used and deployed. They will be installed, used, and maintained at this point in order to endure a long period.

Businesses can apply for permits and licenses from the city hall via a safe, online method called the online business permit application system. The system has a number of advantages, including the capability to submit numerous license and permission applications simultaneously, watch the progress of submissions, and get email notifications when permits are granted or denied.

The system streamlines the application process and helps businesses avoid delays. Businesses can apply online or by mail, and the system provides detailed instructions on how to complete the application form. The system also offers a number of resources, such as contact information for City staff members who can help with specific permit applications.

Summary

The input, process, and output (IPO) model will serve as the conceptual foundation for the inquiry. Before deploying their programming skills to build the project, the researchers examine the project’s user expectations and conduct a literature review for the study. To complete the system, the researchers will employ the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) technique. Its purpose is to ensure that the project progresses through several stages in order to give comprehensive functionality that meets the expectations of the users. The Online Business Permit Application System will be implemented, used, and maintained as a result of this project.
