Technology has aided in the advancement of a company’s operational efficiency and overall consumer happiness. Initially, only large corporations benefited from smart means and mediums that could streamline their corporate operations. However, as technology advances, brilliant minds have created valuable applications, platforms, and other digital tools for small stores. This research focuses on creating an application to automate retail operations. The researchers will create an application that will provide store owners with a smart tool to automate the entire business operation. Despite technological developments, businesses continue to run manually; they have a physical store where their goods are displayed and people come. The proprietor takes orders by hand and gives them to the customer. This is a time-consuming and tough process for store owners. The store also has many activities, such as managing orders, customers, stocks, sales, and other areas of management. Performing all of this manually takes time and slows down the store’s operation. In line with this, the study’s researchers proposed the creation of an application that will automate store operations and management. The study’s researchers will design the application based on the store’s identified needs. The application will allow the store owner to handle records of goods, customers, sales, and other retail administration areas electronically. The application will do away with the necessity for a pen and paper method. The system’s intended users are store owners.

Introduction of the Study

The improvements in the business industry are proven to be driven by technology. The capstone project entitled “Store Owner App in Flutter” is another innovation designed as a business tool. The said application will fuel store owners with an efficient platform to manage their stores. The application will significantly increase their operational efficiency as well as their customer’s satisfaction.

At present, stores still operate manually, they have a physical store where their goods are displayed and are visited by people. The owner manually notes orders and gives them to the customer. This process is kind of inefficient and is difficult for store owners. The store also has different operations, from managing orders, customers, stocks, sales, and other management areas. Doing this all using a manual approach is time-consuming and will slow the operation of the store. There is an intensified need for innovation in this business category for it to flourish and help store owners ease the operation and management of their stores.

Proposed Solution

To address the above-mentioned concern, the researchers of the study proposed the development of the Store Owner Application, The proposed application will be developed by the researchers using flutter. The application is user-friendly and is efficient in managing the operations of a store. The application will allow the store owner to electronically manage records of goods, customers, sales, and other management areas of the store. The application will significantly increase their operational efficiency as well as their customer’s satisfaction.

Objectives of the Study

General Objective – The main goal of the researchers is to implement an application that will automate the operations and management of a store.

The researchers specifically aim to achieve the following objectives:

  1. To digitally transform the operations and management of stores.
  2. To equip store owners with an efficient and reliable Store automation app.
  3. To eliminate manual operations in a store.
  4. To reduce the manual workload of the store owner.
  5. To evaluate the application in terms of user acceptability, quality, productivity, efficiency, and reliability.

Scope of the Study

The main focus of this study is the development process of the Store Owner application in a flutter. The application is limited only for store owners for it is designed with the capabilities of handling operations of stores. The app will ease up and simplify the process of managing records of goods, customers, sales, and other management areas of the store. The target users of the system are store owners.

Conclusion

The study was conducted to assess the current concerns of store owners in terms of managing their stores. The initial investigation reveals that store owners face difficulties in records management and addressing the needs of the customers in a fast and timely manner. With this, the researchers developed and presented a Store Owner App in Flutter. It is an application for store management automation developed using the flutter platform. The result of the study showed that the developed application met the needs and requirements of the respondents and the intended users.

Hence, the researchers concluded that the application is the best way to transform the operation in a store. It will equip store owners with the necessary features to automate operations and management of stores, especially customer needs and orders.

Recommendations

The positive result of the study prompted the researcher to implement the application. The researchers suggest that intended users should download and install the application for its efficiency and reliability. The researchers also highlight the importance of having enough knowledge on how to operate the system to properly use it. Overall, the implementation of the system is highly recommended for it will make store management easy, fast, and convenient.
