WordPress: Managing Posts

In this lesson we are going to learn how to manage posts in WordPress.

Posts are the main part of a blog. Every article that you publish in your blog will be considered as a post. Usually posts are same as blog entries.

Creating Post:

1.      Login to your WordPress site using the administrator account.

2.      Click Add New in the Post tab in your dashboard to go to the Add new Post form.

3.      Fill in the following:

  • Title: Title of the post.
  • Content: The body of your content. It contains the message of the content.
  • Slug: a keyword that describes your post/article.

Leave the rest to its default value.

4.      Click Publish button.

Updating of posts:

1.      Login to your WordPress site using the administrator account.

2.      Click Posts in the Post tab in your dashboard.\

3.      It will show you the list of posts you have. Select the post you want to edit and click Edit link.

4.      You will proceed to the edit form. Here you can modify your post.

5.      Click Update button.

Deleting of posts:

1.      Login to your WordPress site using the administrator account.

2.      Click Posts in the Post tab in your dashboard.\

3.      It will show you the list of posts you have. Select the post you want to delete and click Trash link.

4.      Your post has been deleted.
