Technology is always upgrading, and individuals must adapt to these changes, or else they will not be able to compete in this highly technologically-driven environment. Developments in the way people live their lives go hand in hand with these changes. People in today’s society rely on technology for the majority of their work to accomplish. In terms of employment, job seekers conventionally look for job opportunities and vacancies personally or from agencies which will take valuable time and effort. Employers also will face difficulties in posting updates about job vacancies and accommodating job applicants without having a centralized platform. With the emergence of technology, this job-seeking and employment method became outdated. Inlined with this, the researchers aimed to develop a Job Portal System that will digitally transform job seeking and employment systems. The job portal system is a web-based system for users that will eliminate or reduce the manual processing in terms of job searching and to utilize online marketing and advertisement which is convenient and easy to deploy. The system allows job seekers and applicants to search and apply for a job using their computers and mobile devices connected to the internet. The researchers will develop the system following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) technique to ensure a complete and well-functioning system. The target users of the system are job seekers and employers.
Introduction of the Study
The usage of technology ease up the accomplishment of tasks and activities. It assists people and makes life easier and convenient. The capstone project, entitled “Job Portal System” is designed to serve as a centralized platform for job seekers and employers. The system will allow job seekers to conveniently browse for job vacancies at the comfort of their homes. Employers also can efficiently post an update about the available jobs and the qualification needed for them.
Employment competition has become tough as the number of job seekers increases. Conventionally, job seekers would personally hunt for job openings or rely on employment agencies to search for job vacancies. These methods are quite inefficient and consume valuable time and effort for job applicants. For employers side also, it is difficult for them to broadcast their vacancies to a wider number of job seekers, wherein updates will be received promptly. Employers also will be challenged in accommodating job applicants without having a centralized platform. With the emergence of technology, this job-seeking and employment method became outdated.
Proposed Solution
To resolve the aforementioned concerns, the researchers of the study proposed the development of the Job Portal System. The proposed system will make some improvements from the current manual system. The system will let the employee and employer register at the same time. Using the system it will be easier for job seekers to browse for jobs. Also, for the employers, it will be easy for them to post an update about the available jobs and the qualification needed for them. So, it enables applicants to search for jobs conveniently and to enable employers to find suitable candidates.
Objectives of the Study
General Objective – the researchers generally aim to design, develop and implement a Job Portal System to ease up, simplify and unify job seeking and employment transactions.
Specifically, the researchers aim the following objectives:
- To design a centralized platform for job seekers and employers.
- To allow job seekers to easily and conveniently browse for job vacancies and opportunities.
- To let employers electronically advertise job vacancies.
- To eliminate the need for an in-person job application.
- To evaluate the system in terms of user acceptability, functionality, productivity, quality, and reliability.
Scope of the Study
This study concentrates on the development of the Job Portal System. The system is limited only to searching and posting job vacancies and opportunities. Also, it will allow job applicants to send their resumes to the employers and engage in initial job screening. The system will serve as a centralized platform for job seekers and employers to transact for job applications and employment. The researchers will gather a sample size of job seekers and employers to participate as respondents of the study.
Significance of the Study
The success of the study is deemed beneficial to the following groups or individuals:
Job Seekers. This will give them a platform to search for jobs rapidly. They can submit and update their resume as often as they wish. Using this approach, job seekers would be able to find work rapidly.
Employers. Employers will profit greatly if this study succeeds because it will make their jobs much easier. They can update and post vacancy information and details as needed. Employers can look through resumes based on a variety of parameters.
Researchers. The project will further enhance their skills and knowledge in developing successful projects.
Future Researchers. The study will serve as their guide in developing their version of the Job Portal System.

Conclusion
This study was conducted to assess the current method used by job seekers and employers to search and post job vacancies, respectively. The initial investigation reveals that job seekers still adopt the manual method which to personally hunt job vacancies that cause them so much time and effort. Employers also find difficulties in advertising their vacancies that cause delays in finding a replacement for the vacancies. The conventional method is not ideal. Thus, the researchers developed a Job Portal System and presented it to the respondents and target end-users.
The result of the study showed that the developed system met the needs and requirements of the respondents and intended users of the system. The respondents rated the system satisfactorily in terms of user acceptability, functionality, productivity, quality, and reliability. The system is an efficient and reliable system to streamline job seeking and employment operations.
Recommendations
Based on the significant result of the study, the researchers highly recommend the implementation of the system. The researchers highly recommend the implementation of the system for job seekers and employer usage. The system is recommended to electronically streamline the process of searching and posting job updates and vacancies. The researchers also highlight the importance of having enough knowledge on how to properly use the system.
