Housing Information Management with Mapping

Housing Information Management with Mapping

Abstract

In this digital age, changes are evident brought by technology. Everything seems easy to do with the aid of technology. The researchers conducted the project to assess whether housing organizations are satisfied with the current system used in sharing information between members and tenants.

The capstone project entitled “Housing Information Management with Mapping” is designed to be used by housing organizations to easily share information between tenants. The said project will also have a mapping system that will allow new tenants to familiarize the vicinity of the housing. Conventionally, Housing organizations manage data using a pen and a paper and manually store records of the tenants, the records of maintenance, queries, payments, and other related data. The process of recording, updating, and querying housing information is very slow and prone to errors as well.

The researchers integrate an IT-based solution to resolve the areas of concern in a housing organization. The researchers will employ a systematic approach using computerized systems. The system will develop a system that will eliminate difficulties and problems encountered in the conventional way of housing information management.

The implementation of the system will automate the management of various housing data. The system will allow efficient housing transactions between housing staff and tenants. Automated Information management helps members of the housing easily access all the relevant information they needed.

The system’s implementation is highly recommended for it will increase the housing’s efficiency to meet the needs of the tenants. The mapping system would significantly enhance the organization’s strategy by allowing members to visualize data.

Introduction

The capstone project, “Housing Information Management with Mapping” is intended to help housing organizations manage data sharing within the staff and the tenants. The said project will integrate a mapping system to meet queries of the existing and new tenants by providing data visualization.

Traditionally, housing organizations conduct their transactions using a manual approach. Housing organizations manage data using pen and paper and manually store records of the tenants, the records of maintenance, queries, payments, and other related data. The process of recording, updating, and querying housing information is very slow and prone to errors as well. The manual method would not give housing organizations a competitive advantage in addressing their tenants’ needs, particularly in terms of updating and enabling them access to information.

Proposed Solution

To address the problem, the project’s researchers proposed a Housing Information Management with a Mapping system that automates the management of various housing data to achieve efficient housing transactions between housing staff and tenants. Automated Information management helps members of the housing see all the relevant information they needed. The proposed system will eliminate the barriers and restrictions that the manual method may encounter. The system would increase the housing’s efficiency to meet the needs of the tenants. The mapping system would significantly enhance the organization’s strategy by allowing members to visualize data.

Objectives of the Study

General Objective – The main goal of the project is to design and develop a Housing Information Management with Mapping to help housing organizations to manage information and data sharing within them and the tenants.

Specifically, the project aims the following objectives:

  1. To develop a system that will streamline the flow of information within housing organizations.
  2. The system will serve as a platform for communication between staff and tenants.
  3. The system will manage the recording, updating, and querying of housing information.
  4. To develop a system that is accurate and reliable.
  5. To evaluate the developed system using ISO/IEC 9126 with the following quality characteristics
    1. Functionality
    2. Reliability
    3. Usability
    4. Efficiency
    5. Maintainability
    6. Portability
  6. To develop a system that is easy to operate and should be completed within a short period of time and must fit with the budget of the end-user.

Scope of the Study

The researchers will develop a project that is centered on information management.

The system is capable to electronically manage all housing-related information. The said project will also have a mapping system that allows the intended users to visualize data. The system is limited only to housing organizations and their members and tenants. The study will be conducted on a sample size of housing staff and tenants as a respondent.

Significance of the Study

The success of the project is deemed beneficial to the following individuals or groups:

Housing Organizations. The system will help them in managing all information related to their organizations especially the record of the tenants. The system will streamline the flow of communication between the persons involved.

Tenants. The system will help them have easy access to the information they needed. They can also easily relay their queries for maintenance and other transactions.

Researchers. The success of the project will contribute to the knowledge and skills of the researchers.

Future Researchers. The study will serve as their guide in pursuing their study about Housing Information Management with a Mapping system.

Conclusion

In every organization, the flow of information between members is vital to achieving the organization’s goals. The researchers conducted the study to see how housing organizations manage different information and data sharing between the housing staff and tenants. The researchers have seen that there is a need for improvement in the system that streamlines the flow of information and information management in a housing organization. The researchers developed an automated housing information management with a mapping system to allow the electronic management of information. The result of the study showed significance which entails that the developed system met the needs and requirements of the intended users and respondents.

Thus, the researchers concluded that the developed Housing Information Management with Mapping system is an effective tool to be used by housing organizations in managing information such as records of the tenants, the records of maintenance, queries, payments, and other related data. The system is also efficient in catering to new tenants for it has a mapping system that will allow data visualization.

Recommendations

The result of the study prompted the researchers to strongly recommend the implementation of the system. The researchers highly recommend the system for it will significantly increase the efficiency and accuracy in the operation of the housing organization. The developed system will streamline information management and data sharing between tenants and members of organizations. The researchers also suggest that the intended users should familiarize the features and how the system works.

The following are the specific recommendations of the researchers:

  1. The researchers suggest that every housing organization should utilize the use of the system to improve their services and communication between their tenants.
  2. Housing staff should install the system so that information and data visualization will be highly available and accessible.
  3. The developed system is highly recommended for it will make housing information management efficient, accurate, and reliable.
